En un acto celebrado el sábado en la Casa de la Cultura, el alcalde, Juan Antonio Lara, desgranó las claves de los proyectos, entre ellos, la semipeatonalización del barrio Carranque, la reordenación de la calle Mercurio, un nuevo centro cultural Manuel Estepa, la reforma de la Escuela Infantil La Luz o la rehabilitación y ampliación de las instalaciones del polideportivo Arroyo de la Miel.
Durante el acto, se abrió un turno de preguntas en las que el equipo de gobierno contestó a las dudas, propuestas y sugerencias de los vecinos y colectivos que asistieron a la presentación, acompañando al acto la exposición pública de los paneles informativos donde se detallan los pormenores de cada una de las actuaciones en base a los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) y la inclusión del municipio en la Agenda Urbana 2030. El Ayuntamiento de Benalmádena convocó este fin de semana a vecinos y colectivos en el acto de presentación de las 12 propuestas que aspiran, por un total de 19.500.502,87 euros, a la nueva convocatoria europea de Planes de Actuación Integrados (PAI) de Entidades Locales, con cargo al Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER). El acto, que se llevó a cabo en la Casa de la Cultura, estuvo presidido por el alcalde, Juan Antonio Lara, junto a ediles del equipo de gobierno. El primer edil, sobre una presentación en diapositivas en las que se desgranaban las cuantías de las ideas a desarrollar y los pormenores de las zonas que se modernizarán, contestó también a las dudas, propuestas y sugerencias planteadas por los vecinos y colectivos asistentes. Además, en las instalaciones del recinto cultural, se han sacado a exposición pública los paneles pormenorizados de estas actuaciones futuras, incluyendo infografías, principales líneas de actuación, objetivos de desarrollo sostenible que se cumplen con la medida, su inclusión en la Agenda Urbana 2030 y los plazos de ejecución previstos. Posteriormente, esos paneles recorrerán las zonas que se renovarán para que el debate se amplíe, junto a las reuniones ya mantenidas y las que se prevén para seguir por la senda de la participación ciudadana de toda la zona. Juan Antonio Lara detalló que las 12 actuaciones, impulsadas desde el inicio de legislatura, supondrían un nuevo paquete de inversiones para la ciudad con el impulso a la semipeatonalización del barrio Carranque, la reordenación de la calle Mercurio con diseño de inclusividad, la reedificación del centro cultural Manuel Estepa, la reforma de la Escuela Infantil La Luz o la rehabilitación y ampliación de las instalaciones del complejo polideportivo Arroyo de la Miel. Otros proyectos que también aspiran a obtener ayudas europeas son la adaptación funcional del centro social Carola III, el reverdecimiento y fomento de la identidad cultural en calles céntricas de Arroyo de la Miel, la reordenación y redensificación de las zonas verdes del Parque Jesús Cautivo, la regeneración del nacimiento Arroyo de la Miel y la Plaza de los Niños, la adaptación de un espacio co-social en el actual centro del área de Bienestar Social en Pueblosol, la digitalización de pymes del Centro Comercial Abierto y la formación para empresas y autónomos del mismo. El alcalde ha subrayado que, con esta propuesta a Europa «se da cumplimiento al compromiso adquirido con nuestros vecinos, que ahora pueden participar, aportar y valorar todos estos proyectos enmarcados «en una triple perspectiva», la económica, que permite poner en valor una zona no adaptada a los tiempos actuales; la medioambiental, con una apuesta decidida por el peatón y la eficiencia energética de calles antiguas y estrechas; y la social, cuya finalidad no es otra que mejorar la calidad de vida de los vecinos, todo ello dando continuidad a proyectos anteriores en el cumplimiento de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Urbano Sostenible (ODS). Todos estos proyectos, recordó el primer edil, son los que aspiran a obtener ayudas europeas, enmarcando que el objetivo del equipo de gobierno es impulsar previamente otras grandes obras engloban más de 40 millones de euros en los primeros dos años de mandato y que complementan a estos proyectos. Así, toma gran protagonismo la creación de nuevas bolsas de aparcamiento, incluyendo el parking del polideportivo Arroyo de la Miel, para dar respuesta previa a las necesidades de los residentes de la zona. «No se actuará antes en estas zonas sino está terminada y concluida de antemano la alternativa», subrayó el alcalde. Los trabajos que se presentan a Europa han sido impulsados por la Delegación Municipal de Fondos Europeos, que dirige la edil Aurea Peralta; Edificaciones, Vías y Obras, junto a Urbanismo, Turismo, Cultura, Deportes, Educación o Comercio, entre otras áreas locales.
